The Ministry of Trade and Industry created an online directory of the cheapest hawker food available. The "Islandwide List of Hawker Food" (https://www.mti.gov.sg/Hawker/Pages/Search.aspx) is a searchable directory of lower fare hawker foods located at hawker centres around Singapore. We sent TNP's food columnist Yeoh Wee Teck to go and test five hawker foods from that list.
