Mr Tan Lip-Bu, has been called the “pioneer of Asian VC” by Forbes for investing in Asian start-ups long before it became fashionable. He has backed countless companies, including Creative Technology, which became Singapore’s first Nasdaq-listed company in 1992. Mr Tan shares his first impressions of Sim Wong Hoo, founder of Creative Technology, among other first experiences in his life. Mr Tan is the chairman of Walden International and the founding managing partner of Celesta Capital and Walden Catalyst Ventures, with over US$5 billion under management.
