Synopsis: This is a special episode of The Straits Times' video series The Big Story, hosted by Hairianto Diman and Olivia Quay.

Across the Causeway, Malaysia began a two-week nationwide lockdown on Tuesday (June 1). Slated to last till June 14, the lockdown only allows essential sectors to continue to operate, and people limited to travel within a 10-kilometre radius of their homes.

ST's Malaysia bureau chief Shannon Teoh shares more on the lockdown measures and the impact on the economy.
