<p> JAKARTA - A POWERFUL quake with a magnitude of 7.0 hit off the eastern Indonesian island of Maluku on Sunday, seismologists said, but no tsunami warning was issued.</p> <p>The quake struck at 7.47pm local time (1247 GMT, 8.47pm Singapore time) about 132 kilometres (82 miles) south-east of Labuha, North Maluku province, at a depth of 56 kilometres, the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.</p>

<p>ATHENS - MOST Greeks think draconian austerity measures announced by the government this month are along the right lines and many feel labour unions should be restrained in their opposition, a poll showed on Saturday.</p> <p>Some 50.1 per cent of 1,008 people surveyed by polling agency Marc for the Sunday Ethnows newspaper said last week's 4.8 billion euro (S$9.2 billion) package went 'in the right direction' while 41.9 per cent said it did not.
